Endings.

Once again it seems like I have become lazy and inconsistent with my blogging - but I did warn you this could happen! Exam-frazzled nerves have kept me away from my constant updates, which means that today I have two outifts from the previous week for you to check out, and the news that yesterday was my last official day at college. I don't believe that two years have gone so fast, and that now I only have to go in for a few days to do exams and will possibly never have to set foot in there again after that. It has been a brilliant place to be, with enjoyable classes, wonderful teachers and of course hours and hours of fun with some amazing friends that I hope will stay close to me forever.

Outfit one..

Shirt & Tights - Primark; Shorts & Bracelets - Tosphop; Bralet (underneath) - New Look; Creepers - Amazon; Earrings - Miss Selfridge.

This was another of my attempts to be edgy I think, by working my creepers into one of my looks. I really love this shirt with the embellished collar because it can be the perfect nod to tribal chic, and really ups the ante on your average blouse. Teaming it with these raspberry shorts really helps balance out a high neckline which could easily look too prim and ladylike, and I just really adore my creepers. Some tough-yet-pretty jewellery was the finishing touch to this ensemble.

Outfit two..

Blazer - Bershka; Top & Necklace - Topshop; Trousers - ASOS; Shoes - Dorothy Perkins; Earrings & Ring - Miss Selfridge; Cuff - H&M.

Here I am returning to my beloved floral prints, but not in quite such a girlie way.. I am still very much loving the trend for printed trophy trousers, so I am bringing this pair out of their hibernation again. The bright digital blooms look very summery, especially when paired with a very SS'12 peach pastel blazer and a light metallic blouse. I allowed some black to slip in with the pointed court shoes, but that was because there were already enough colours and prints going on in the ensemble and these heels allow the existing elements to shine. Oh, and sorry about the poor picture quality, I had to take it on a timer in my kitchen..

Which one do you all prefer?

Also, since it was the last day, we took some photos - and here is one of my gorgeous group of friends.

I dislike English weather.

After yesterday's gorgeous blue sky I was kind of expecting today to be similarly bright and pretty, especially since it is March and spring has definitely sprung. Okay, so it's still going to be cold until at least April, but the weather can at least have the decency to look springlike. With that expectation in mind, I dressed typically optimistically and impractically today - and then of course it was grey.

Jumper & Wedges - New Look; Trousers - ASOS; Necklace & Ring - Temporary Secretary; Bracelet - Lola Rose.

Since I anticipated sunshine I decided to break out my floral trousers for the second time, thinking how beautifully springlike they are, and how good they would look in the sun. Sadly, that wasn't to be.. but they still looked amazing. I cannot get over how comfortable I can feel wearing something this bright and bold, or the fact that I can actually pull these off. This time I matched them with my cute pastel knit jumper, some high wedges to lengthen my legs, some bright pink lipstick and a scattering of quirky jewellery.

One thing you can't accuse me of is playing it safe.

I'm going to keep this short and sweet, since it is around 10.08pm and I have just had a day in college followed by work & quite literally only want to see my bed. I was pretty tired to start with today, and all that activity has just floored me.. This morning, when deciding what to wear, I did my usual trick of dressing super-brightly when I feel tired - it's a real mood-booster, and means that nobody else can tell you are basically running on autopilot because they are too busy processing your look!

Blazer & Top - Topshop; Trousers & Ring - ASOS; Shoes - Dorothy Perkins; Bracelet - Lola Rose.

Today I was not content with simply wearing my new (gorgeous) floral trousers from ASOS, which I officially adore, but I decided to basically attack the eyes of the general public with some seriously mixed up florals. And let's face it, single print outfits just won't cut it anymore! I think it works because the two patterns are both floral & digitized, but slightly different, and the orange of the top picks out the neon orange element of the trousers. Since the main body of my look was so OTT and in-your-face, I styled my clashing blooms with simple black accessories and silver jewellery. I will openly admit now that I had not realised how skinny the heel was on my new black Dorothy Perkins heels - it's fair to say they aren't the most stable of shoes. But I walked around in them happily all day, and skinny heels are very du jour!

Day-tripping.

<a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/3272820/obsession-du-jour?claim=brd8wz9x3vj">Follow my blog with Bloglovin</a>

On the offchance that I'll gather some more lovely followers/commenters, I've now got Bloglovin'! Follow me if you want to keep seeing my ramblings..

In other news, today was the last Monday of term! And instead of my usual drawn-out, full-timetabled day, I managed to escape by embarking on a history trip. We took an incredibly long coach trip up to Stratford-upon-Avon, apparently to see a Tudor World museum and do some activities - in reality this was a small Tudor house with some rooms with models etc in them, and the activities mainly consisted of taking it in turns to go in the stocks. All in all, not the most useful of trips. But then it looked up.. we finished the 'activities' a good two hours earlier than we were expected to be leaving Stratford, and were let loose! So obviously, since we were in the town centre, Lucy & I went shopping.. Here's what I was wearing for the little excursion..

Top, Blazer & Shoes - New Look; Skirt - H&M; Tights - Primark; Earrings - Topshop; Rings - Forever 21 & Topshop.I actually really liked this outfit, even though it is hardly complex, because the details are very cute. The scalloped collar with ribbon bow is reflected in these bow suspender tights (yes, I love statement tights), which makes it look very put together and done. I also love the fact that the top, picked up in the sales a few months ago, manages to look very du jour because it features the kind of big floral print that is huge in the current resort collections, and making a definitive comeback in the uber-feminine styling that is coming in for SS '12. Wearing florals in winter also immediately lifts a look, as well as my mood! Did I mention it was incredibly cold on our mostly-outdoors trip? Or that it rained stupidly heavily on the way back? Mood-boosting florals were definitely needed.

I believe I also mentioned that we got some free time, time which was of course devoted to shopping.. And I was pretty much destined to buy something when we found a rather large H&M in one of the shopping centre-type areas. H&M is one of my all-time favourite stores - affordable, yet very on-trend at all times. This time I picked up an incredible bargain...

How awesome? I saw several gorgeous things in H&M, then spotted these out of the corner of my eye and immediately zoned in on them. The first pair I touched were my size, so I literally grabbed them and decided to have them right then and there. I did try them on first to make sure they fitted, and suited me, and they did (for the most part). Since I am a very petite girl (aka only 5'0, with legs of around 27-inches inside), and these were made for normal people at least 5 inches taller, they will need a little bit of taking up - but not to worry, my mother and I are well-practised at this. Mum has been doing it pretty much all her life, and I'm getting more skilled at this tailoring lark the more jeans I buy... But anyway, once they have been fitted perfectly to my tiny pins, they will go with so many things! They will also be perfect for day-to-night, dressed down with some chunky knitwear and then dressed up with a cute top and sky-high heels. I have finally gotten into the trophy trouser trend...
