International obsession Lana Del Rey is one of my icons, so it's little wonder that I tried to replicate her retro glamour for a night.. This look was for a meal out with my friends on results day, and the photos were taken in my garden as I tried to be as fabulous as Lana.
Dress & Shoes - New Look; Clutch - christmas present from parents; Earrings - Versace for H&M.
I am in love with this vintage style dress, especially the print and the bow-tied back. The earrings are some more favourites that rarely get worn, since they are so heavy! I also attempted something new here with my hair - a voluminous, backcombed half up style that one of my friends commented was very like Lana - and am loving the results. Expect to see more hair like this..

Simples.
I am still in Sulawesi at the moment, and took the opportunity to get online while I can! I am seeing a lot of tribal things, walking a lot, eating a lot and still attracting attention wherever I go..
Oh my god I just realised it has been ONE WHOLE YEAR since I started blogging! Happy Birthday obsession du jour - now where can I get a celebratory cake? Thankyou all for reading, commenting and following, it means a lot. Love to you all!
Our holiday actually started with an overnight visit to my relatives, who live much closer to the airport than we do. It breaks up the journey and was lovely to see them - I like to keep up with my family. Since it was such a casual occasion (being in the car and then chilling at my granny`s house) I opted for some simple separates.
Shirt - H&M; Jeans & Shoes - Primark; Ring - Topshop.
I adore this shirt because it can be dressed up or down, and it was the perfect casual accompaniment to these bright cobalt jeans - so much more interesting than regular blue. The mint green toe-cap pumps are new and I have now discovered how much I like them because they are so cute. Although it is typical that I should decide to be all covered up, only for the sun to come out.. and just before I go away too!

Blood is thicker than water.
I have to admit that living down here with my parents in the middle of nowhere I don't see the rest of my family that often. Last weekend however my grandparents (Mum's side) came down to visit and we had a meal out for their anniversary/grandma's birthday, which my cousins came to as well. Unfortunately while my grandparents were down I was working a fair bit so I haven't got much to say about the rest of the visit, other than we watched insane amounts of tennis..
On the Sunday however we all went out to a hotel/restaurant nearby us, fighting through those awful floods to get there. We (I) got all dressed up and had a lovely meal out, spending hours just talking. I did, however, get a few minutes to take some not-at-all-awkward outfit photos outside when the sun came out!
Shirt & Skirt - H&M; Shoes & Clutch - New Look; Earrings - Forever 21; Rings - Miss Selfridge & H&M.
This look was inspired by Marilyn Monroe, or rather one of the outfits Michelle Williams wears while playing her in My Week With Marilyn. That look consisted of a shirt and pencil skirt too, but in neutral colours - I copied the silhouette but added my own modern twist with bright colour, print and some super-cute wedge heels. I love getting dressed up, but obviously going out for lunch isn't quite as formal as dinner, which is why I kept this look casual without too much ornate jewellery, and the collar unbuttoned.
It was lovely to catch up, and a nice change to sitting at home on a Sunday!

In love with my mint shoes.
Once again I am sorry for the long wait between posts.. I am a truly terrible blogger at the moment! Honestly, the past few days have been lazy days interspersed with work and revision, but mostly consisting of hiding at home in my sweats watching Disney films - I haven't had much time to myself recently so the opportunity to just relax has been lovely. Today however I was out and about shopping again and attracting a few looks..
Shirt - Blanco; Skirt - River Island; Shoes - New Look; Bag, Earrings & Bracelets - Topshop; Ring - H&M.
I think it was the shoes that were attracting attention. Well, they are pretty gorgeous - I love the mint green hue and those immense platforms.. and they are suprisingly comfortable too. I ignored the weather again and even though it was cloudy with a chance of rain I wore a summery outfit. The bright skirt and tropical print were the perfect way to brighten the day and make it feel a bit more like summer, especially with bare legs and a bright lip.
Dress - Topshop
This dress was a complete impulse buy. It caught my eye as I walked in, I tried it on and fell in love. I adore the bright print that is a mix of so many florals and paisley, which looks bold, eye-catching and perfect for summer (if it ever gets here). I also love the cutout detail which captures the trend of showing your high-driff (the top bit of your stomach) this season, and is also super-flattering because of how it is placed and how the dress is cut. It gives you awesome curves too.
Shorts - Primark
The stripes on these shorts remind me of a stick of rock - the epitome of a summertime beach trip. They are high waisted, which means they will go with anything and the light hues makes them perfect for if we ever get some proper sun.

Sunshine & showers.
Venturing out for the first real time this week, post-jubilee and looking forward to summer, I hit the shops again. Expecting sunshine, I dressed optimistically for a warm June day, and was instead greeted with odd little bursts of sun mixed into some dismal rain. But I did pick up some gorgeous summery pieces in town today that picked the mood of the day right up.
Top & Skirt - New Look; Shoes, Bag & Earrings - Topshop; Bracelet - Primark; Ring - H&M.
Going for quite a simple, feminine look made up of sweet separates, I definitely was hoping for better weather than I got. I love the two complementary floral patterns though - the bright, abstract skirt works well with the cutout vest, which always feels very summery to me. The pastel bag and glitter flats added another layer of girliness and kept the look light and sweet.
Cork heel sandals - New Look
I couldn't resist these heels. I have needed a new pair of summer heels for quite a while now, and these are just stunning. Mint green is my favourite colour right now, and not only will these give me a serious height boost, but they are actually really comfortable since the heel is so chunky. Love.
Maxi skirt - New Look
Another thing I have been searching for is a maxi skirt, and the search was getting more desperate as my holiday approaches! The colour of this skirt is what really caught my eye, and then the lightweight material and flowing cut convinced me that I had to have it. Of course, to make it fit my petite frame I will need to take it up (with help from my mum) but it is still worth it.
Peplum top - River Island
I have been seeing peplums on anyone who is anyone in the fashion universe, and although I was dubious at first I am now convinced that I need to work one, after seeing so many different and inspirational ways to wear one. I opted for a top because it will be versatile, and this one in particular because I love the fierce, metallic print.
Jewellery - Topshop
Lastly, I got enticed in by the jewellery sale in Topshop and managed to pick up some sweet pieces for under £5 altogether!

Baby, you can drive my car..
Today was a pretty simple little Wednesday, but the fact that I actually braved college means that you lovely people get to see an outfit post for the first time this week! Since I was just in for one lesson I decided not to pull too many fashion punches and matched some of my separates for a casual yet stylish (I hope) look..
Cardigan - Dorothy Perkins; Vest - Topshop; Shorts & Tights - Primark; Shoes - New Look; Cuff - H&M; Ring - Miss Selfridge; Necklace - River Island; Earrings - River Island.
I absolutely love my car print shorts because they are achingly Prada-esque and just scream retro-Americana, which makes them a quick, simple way to look very du jour. They are also possibly the most fun a pair of shorts can be with their little cartoon motifs.. Today I paired them with my mint green scalloped vest (mint is my favourite colour right now), my Chanel-esque cardigan, black opaques and bright coral slippers for a slightly eclectic look with a very SS'12 edge.
Also, I just got a Lookbook account (finally) - I would love it if you would come check it out here, and maybe hype me?

Minty fresh.
There is nothing like a fresh pastel colour to give you a mood boost on a day like today - I had two exams so I was in serious need of one! This is just going to be a quick little post since I have been at work this evening as well, but I wanted to share my outfit with you all. Anyway, today I relied on my favourite hue of the moment to pick me up and put on possibly my favourite jumper..
Jumper, Earrings & Leaf Ring - Topshop; Shorts - Blue Miss; Tights - Primark; Shoes - George at Asda; Necklace - H&M; Camera Ring - Temporary Secretary.
I absolutely adore this Topshop jumper because it is in a gorgeous spring colour with a cute white collar, and the loose knit makes it perfect for transitional weather like today's. I also love how the oversized shape works with shorts and tights for the perfect balance between covered-up and baring skin. These tights were a bit of a welcome departure from my black opaques - I have had them for years and absolutely love them because the pattern is nature-inspired and really cute and individual.
Now I'm just curious.. but when you guys aren't feeling your best, or have a stressful day ahead, are there any colours, prints or pieces you like to put on to perk yourselves up?
Love and kisses, Tara xox

Happy birthday to me..
Apologies for not blogging yesterday, but I was rather distracted since I turned 18! Yes, I am now officially an adult & was consequently enjoying my new adulthood instead of keeping up with the posts.. It was a pretty perfect 18th, even though I had an exam and had to be in college. Then again, getting to spend the day with my friends was definitely worth the early morning start and exam nerves.
I actually got up extra-early because there was no way I was waiting until the evening to rip my way into my presents - I'll post the haul soon I promise! Then when I got into college one of my friends had made me a cake (decorated with some yummy strawberries) and since I had an exam second I spent first lesson chilling and reminiscing with my friends.. Then the exam rolled around and I actually wasn't half as nervous as I thought, I was barely even hyperventilating! And when the examiner, my teacher and the other girl in my class sang 'Cumpleanos Feliz' to me I decided there was no way I could be nervous - the exam might even have gone okay.
After that we tucked in to said cake for lunch (it was gorgeous), then I went in to town with a few friends. Finally I topped it all off by getting my first legal drink in a pub near my college - vodka and coke is fast becoming 'my drink'. Funny thing is, they didn't even ID me..
This is what I wore during the day for my 18th birthday - this outfit was purely fun, with cute pieces I just wanted to wear for no specific reason other than they are super-sweet.
Jumper - Topshop; Skirt - River Island; Tights & Shoes - Primark; Necklace - Tiffany; Earrings & Ring - Vivienne Westwood.
This kitsch cherry-print skirt was just screaming out to be worn - I adore fruit prints, especially when combined with such a gorgeous retro shape. I didn't want to kill said shape by layering a jacket over the top, so to combat the disappointing April weather I paired it with this loose-knit mint green jumper from Topshop, which also has a slightly retro feel due to the pastel hue. I just love how cute and playful this look is, which is the perfect mood for a birthday!
I know I said I would do a present haul later on, but after unwrapping so much gorgeous jewellery I just couldn't resist wearing some of it! Honestly, since 18 is such a big year people were willing to spend loads of money on me for things I could keep forever - hello Tiffany's. And a bit of Vivienne Westwood never goes amiss. I adore these classic pieces because they are truly timeless, and because I am a Tiffany girl at heart - especially after seeing Breakfast At Tiffany's and falling in love with Audrey Hepburn. That necklace is probably my favourite present of all.
Oh, and this little beauty of a picture is me with my first legal drink in a pub - that moment had to be preserved forever.
The second and third legal drinks followed that evening because I went out for a meal with my parents, since on such a big birthday there should be some family time. I loved the chance to dress up and show off another outfit!
Dress - Mary Katrantzou for Topshop; Blazer & Shoes - ASOS; Bracelet - Pandora; Earrings & Ring - Vivienne Westwood; Necklace - Tiffany.
I have been waiting to wear this stunning shift dress ever since I got it, but there was never an event that felt quite right.. But since it was my birthday I decided I could wear whatever I wanted. I absolutely adore the gorgeous print - there really is no designer who creates prints like Mary Katrantzou, and that is why she is possibly my favourite designer of the moment. I decided to keep the rest of the outfit simple, opting for my black blazer to frame the print and sticking with my classic silver jewellery. I then also took the opportunity to wear my killer platforms - they're so impractical but gorgeous!
The meal out was awesome - we went to my favourite Thai restaurant and ate so much I thought I would explode. I also had some more vodka and diet coke (definitely my drink), and some Jack Daniels on the rocks, which was actually pretty good. Maybe I'm a whisky girl!
All in all, a pretty beautiful birthday, and I am now ready to face the world as an adult with responsibilities.. except when it comes to going out, then I may go a little insane! But otherwise I am ready to take responsibility for myself, not need parental permission, and even be able to vote..

April showers.
Call me British, but there is only one thing bothering me properly at the moment - the awful weather. I keep getting absolutely drenched because it looks so lovely in the mornings when I leave the house, and then a few hours later it is raining so much there should be flood warnings. Where I live it is especially bad because I am completely in the middle of nowhere - my poor little Ford Ka had to pull through some terribly deep puddles just to make it home. I know I spent all winter moaning about the weather so it seems pointless to carry on, but I really had expected better from April. Yes, April showers are to be expected, but I was also hoping for a bit more sunshine and some higher temperatures, especially as we edge closer to May..
Blazer - Bershka; Top & Earrings - Topshop; Jeans & Shoes - Primark; Cuff - H&M; Ring - Miss Selfridge; Earrings - Accessorize.
But there is nothing better to stop me getting Seasonal Affected Disorder than some serious colour blocking! I have had these cobalt jeans for years and I absolutely love them - another case where panning for Primark gold has seriously paid off. It would have been easy to let them be the main feature of my outfit, but nothing screams spring more than piling on the bright colours. I did it with my peach blazer and mint green pumps for a very SS'12 take on colour blocking with pastels. I am also wearing the iridescent top I picked up in the Topshop sale, which adds interest with a slightly unusual texture.

Just another manic Monday..
Is it me or is it always Monday? Especially when you don't want it to be.. The full-scale exam nerves are kicking in, it was my full day and it was raining - all in all not the best day, and certainly not a Monday I was looking forward to. That said, I was keen to wear some of my new clothes!
Blazer - ASOS; Top & Skirt - New Look; Tights & Shoes - Primark; Earrings - Roam at New Look; Bracelet - Pandora; Rings - Accessorize, Topshop & New Look.
This is one of my new skirts that I picked up last week, and I wish it had been better weather today because it would be absolutely beautiful on a sunny day! As it was, it looked bright and bold in comparison to the overwhelmingly grey sky above. The cheerful floral pattern is the perfect Monday morning pick-me-up, and I like the burst of colour it gives to an otherwise almost monochrome outfit. The cutout white shell top adds a bit more texture and stops me feeling too covered up - it really is quite see through... My beloved black blazer was the attempt at making this look temperature-appropriate and preventing frostbite, as were the patterned tights. Once again, ballet pumps aren't the best shoes for rain, but I just adore these mint ones too much.
Love and kisses, Tara xox

A different girl every day.
I am definitely getting out of my blogging rhythm.. But I have a fair excuse. Yesterday evening I was doing the second part of my Passplus course, which will hopefully save money on my car insurance, and we got back so late that I decided to go straight to bed and not do any of the things I probably should have! So today will be a double outfit post (aren't you lucky!), with yesterday's look as well as today's..
So yesterday I was informed that the weather for the day was going to be stormy, windy, rainy and generally terrible. Most people, upon hearing this, would have reached for their coats, boots and umbrellas before setting foot outside. But not me.
Blazer - Bershka; Dress - ASOS; Shoes & Tights - Primark; Bracelet - Pandora; Rings - Yumi, Topshop & Accessorize.
I dressed in the exact opposite of a storm - namely this season's super-sweet pastels! They all compliment each other so well, why not wear them all together? Colour blocking has been a trend for quite a few seasons now and it used to be all about brights, but now it is seriously cool to look like you were dragged through a sweet shop backwards in gorgeous pastel shades. I am loving these sugar-sweet colours, especially mixed together. I pulled together my favourite pastel pieces - a peach blazer, powder-blue dress and mint shoes - and love the result. This look is probably too feminine and sickly for some, but I am a real girl's girl so I love anything like this!
Today's look wasn't quite so girlie, but that doesn't mean I played it safe either..
Blazer - ASOS; Blouse - Blanco; Jeans & Cuff - H&M; Shoes - New Look; Necklace - christmas present from parents; Ring - Miss Selfridge.
Since today was a half day, I opted for something that I would call minimal effort. Most people would probably say I was still dressed up, but I am wearing jeans! I also decided to dress for the summer again with a tropical print - if I could just dive right into that pattern and onto a beach I would! Just excuse the slightly awful picture - this was taken after I got home, feeling a bit like a drowned rat from getting rained on. Hence my awkward little pose, and the fact my feet are cut off..
So here are two different outfits that all emanate from my wardrobe - I love the way that I can dress up completely differently day in day out. Especially this season when there are so many trends on the go, it is just oh-so-easy to indulge every side of your personality with a different outfit.

On holidad.
Okay, wowzers. I've been silent as the grave post-wise for the past five days. That is practically unheard of, right? Normally I can't wait to ramble at length.. Well, I've got a legitimate excuse right here - last Friday I jetted off to Madrid with some of my fellow Spanish students for a college trip, and I only got home last night at some ungodly hour. I could blog all day about how much I love Madrid, bore you all sick with endless lists of things we did, things we ate (it was a real food holiday) and how much I wish I was back there right now, but I will try to keep mindless musings to a minimum & stick to the fashion side of it.
First up is my first holiday outfit, which had to be a versatile affair since it needed to see me through a morning in college, some coach-airport-coach transit and then an evening in some kind of tapas bar.
Blazer – ASOS; Top
& Necklace – Topshop; Shorts & Cuff – H&M; Tights – Primark;
Shoes – New Look.
I opted for a quick mix of some spring trends – scarf print
and pastels - with my new paisley shorts, and a simple scalloped vest in my
favourite colour of the season, mint green. The combination works in a way I
wasn’t sure it would, probably due to the black blazer and black opaques that
frame it, and the cute colour-pop slippers.
Day one was over quite quickly, lost in transit, and day two rolled around. I tried not to let being on holiday and dressing out of a suitcase lessen my style, and although I knew the weather would be good, I didn't let myself slip from trend-driven dressing to lazy-holiday style.
Blazer – ASOS; Blouse & Shoes – Primark; Skirt – H&M; Tights
– New Look; Bracelet – Temporary Secretary; Ring – Topshop; Bag – H! by Henry
Holland.
Another bit of pastel confectionery burst out of my suitcase
for the first full day in Madrid, this time my pleated lemon blouse and mint
green shoes. I was a little unsure about doing the double pleat with this
blouse & my colour-block skirt, but I think the fairly simple colour
combinations made it work. This was almost a print-free outfit, until I added
in my star print tights for a little bit of extra interest.
On day two we ended up hitting the Prado museum, after a bit
of a walk, and I enjoyed it more than I expected. I’m no art critic, and
probably would have preferred it if we went to a Prada museum, but I do admit
that some of the paintings really impressed me, and we spent a fair while in
there quite happily. Then came the usual gift shop frenzy, followed by a
minority of the group wandering through Madrid back to our youth hostel (the
others took the metro – lazy!), while we entertained ourselves looking around
and adding ‘idad’ to every word. Yes, I study A2 level Spanish.
Then we went out for the evening in the red light district –
not on purpose, it just happened to be the area we were staying in. I will
admit we peaked too soon as we kicked off with a good jug of Sangria. This was
followed by an immense amount of walking, some serious snacking, wine, and the
discovery of cartons of Sangria for a little over a Euro.
We all woke up on day three pretty sleepy, ready for some
coffee. Again I tried to maintain the standard of my outfits..
Blouse, Jeans & Sunglasses – H&M; Necklace &
Shoes – New Look; Ring – Temporary Secretary.
Jeans may not have been the wisest choice for a super-sunny
day in Madrid, but I really loved this combination of a bold floral shirt, shimmering metallic jeans and colour pop slippers. I did feel quite eccentric as I strolled through the streets, but maybe that's just my style. This look worked very well day-to-night though, because those metallic jeans are a little too glam for day (but can be dressed down) and are totally party-ready.
Day three consisted of an incredible amount of walking, firstly to the Plaza Mayor, then back to the hostel, then out again for lunch, more random wandering and a visit to the park. Days in Spain seem very long because nothing really gets going before lunchtime, so you can walk around for absolutely ages, and then everything stays open and buzzing until late, even the shops. After the park, we went back to the hostel again to get ready for another night on the streets of Madrid. Much like the night before, the evening consisted of Sangria, snacking and walking, only this time we ended up in a bar that we were pretty sure was a gay one. No issues with that whatsoever - besides, they mixed a good mojito.
Day four didn’t start well since we overslept and had to get
ready in a rush, and I was ridiculously glad that my obsessive-compulsive
planning had led to me packing pre-composed outfits for each day.
Top – Mary Katrantzou for Topshop; Skirt – River Island;
Shoes – Primark; Necklace – New Look; Bracelet – Temporary Secretary; Earrings
& Ring – Topshop; Sunglasses – H&M.
By this time, I was feeling brave enough to bare my pale
English legs in my favourite 50’s style skirt, paired with one of my Mary
Katrantzou pieces. I love a good floral print, as you can probably tell, and I
especially like how feminine I felt in this combination. Honestly, I did look
feminine – just excuse the bad light of the youth hostel!
On day four we visited the Reina Sofia museum, full of
modern art that was mostly incomprehensible to me. I went a little photo-crazy
in there, but resisted the gift shop frenzy (okay, couldn’t find it). We then
had a free afternoon to make our way back to the hostel any which way we
fancied, which was basically lunch followed by another long walk. It was our
last proper evening in Madrid, so even though we were tired and not really up
for it, we went out again. It was a pretty funny night, again consisting of
Sangria, snacks and lots of laughs.
The final day, day five, began in a bit of a packing frenzy, and I rolled out the simplest outfit of the trip..
Top, Cuff & Sunglasses – H&M; Shorts, Earrings &
Ring – Topshop; Tights & Shoes – Primark; Necklace – New Look; Bag – H! by
Henry Holland.
Baring a little more flesh again today, I left my shoulders
bare for once. I’m not fussed about tanning, but there are occasions when I
want to walk along feeling the sun on my skin. I love the cute butterfly print
of this top, and the way the slouchy fit balances the uber-short shorts (tights
are necessary). My mint green shoes are a bit of an unexpected colour pop, and
I think I will have to get some more since this trip has pretty much battered
them to death!
On our final day we went to the royal palace, and then on
the last afternoon I finally got some free shopping time. It started with
frozen yoghurt, churros and one final cocktail, finishing up with hitting
clothes shops hard, then trying to fit everything into my suitcase. Then before
I knew it we were on the coach back to college, and my mum was picking me up. I
literally collapsed into bed last night.
Phew, that was a super-long post. Since I’ve already
blathered on far too much I will post my scant buys another day, and just leave
you with a few thoughts. Since my return to Madrid I have been thinking I could
easily spend more time there, and I may just have to return soon! I am also
glad that I opted out of college today, since I am suffering a severe
post-holiday crash. Finally, I want to say how ridiculously excited I am for
this weekend, going to see my best friend for the Kylie Minogue Anti Tour!
Oh and one last thing – if you actually made it to the end
of this post, you deserve a medal!
Amor y besos, Tara xox

Paisley & mint.
It was back into college again today since I was feeling a bit better.. Luckily it was only Wednesday, a half day, but there was the joy of parents evening as well. To kill time between my last lesson and parents evening only four hours later, I decided not to go home, but went out for lunch with Mum, treating her as a late mother's day present. It was actually a pretty good day, topped off with some more gorgeous weather - although today my dressing inappropriately went to the other end of the spectrum and I ended up being too hot.
Blazer & Ring - ASOS; Dress - Dorothy Perkins; Shoes & Tights - Primark; Earrings - H&M; Necklace - Avon; Bracelet - Pandora.
In one of my more foolish moments, I picked out an outfit more suited to January than March, or at least more suited to a cold day than the beautiful blue one we got today! I was even wearing my heavy-duty black tights, since the others were in the wash.. Big mistake. But however warm I may have been (and don't get me wrong, I adore hot weather), I was actually pretty pleased with this minimal-effort outfit. I have had this dress for quite a while, but since paisley scarf prints seem to be everywhere at the moment, I decided to break it out again. Since the majority of the outfit was black (I am turning into my mother apparently) I opted for my new mint ballet flats to add a pop of new-season colour to the look. A few pieces of delicate silver jewellery finished it off in a classic, slightly understated way.
Okay, now for possibly the first time I am going to do a little bit of shameless promotion.. My best friend has just set up her own fashion blog, literally a few days ago, and even though I might be slightly biased it is absolutely amazing. She has brilliant style, is really entertaining to read & is basically all-round amazing. Go check her out at Dress me i'm your mannequin - it's totally worth a click and a read. Oh and Becca, I love you!

Simples.
For the first Saturday in ages, I wasn't working this morning (evening shift - yay!), so of course I hit my local shops hard. Shamefully, despite pounding that pavement for quite some time I didn't actually buy that much. I'd had ideas in my head of things I'd seen before and was highly tempted to snap up, but of course when I actually got to the right stores, those things weren't there, or weren't in my size - oh the difficulties of being an average size!
Blazer - ASOS; Top & Shoes - New Look; Jeans - Primark; Bag - H! by Henry Holland; Cuff - H&M; Ring - Topshop; Earrings - Accessorize.
I went for a simple, relaxed outfit today, relying on bold colour and different textures to see me through. I don't wear jeans or trousers half as often as I wear skirts/shorts/dresses, so when I do I don't like to just wear your average pair of indigo skinnies (although I do own some of those) and would much rather make a statement. Coloured denim has been big in fashion for a few seasons now, and it is going nowhere as we get into the swing of SS'12. I have my eye on a few other coloured pairs, but while they remain firmly in my dreams I picked out this cobalt blue pair. I paired them with a white cutout lace top (white is another SS'12 trend), which stops me looking too covered-up and conservative, along with my blazer and some bright accessories. I also wore my hair up for the first time in a while, purely because it hasn't actually come down since yesterday evening!
I said that I didn't buy very much, and it is true.. In fact the only thing worth mentioning is this gorgeous new pair of flats from Primark.
Okay, in the light here they look almost light teal coloured, but I swear to you these cute little dolly shoes are actually a delightful shade of mint green. And it's not really a secret that mint is one of my favourite colours right now, as well as a big hit in fashion - yes, Gaga was right. Since they were such a bargain, I couldn't resist these shoes. They are perfect for spring, and will work beautifully with all the other pastel colours that have infiltrated my wardrobe.

Minted.
Welcome again to the sheer loveliness that is Wednesday - and no sarcasm necessary, because I actually love Wednesdays. I only have two lessons in college, which leaves me plenty of time in the afternoon/evening to do work, relax and just laze around my house in general. It's probably the most stress-free weekday, especially since I can take time writing posts - instead of frantically bashing something out around 9.30pm, I am actually writing around 4.30pm & doing it very leisurely.
As far as today's outfit goes, I would hardly say I am pushing the boat out, but I think that the colours employed keep it on the stylish side..
Cardigan - Dorothy Perkins; Top, Necklace & Ring - Topshop; Jeans - H&M; Shoes - New Look; Bracelet - Temporary Secretary.
You can now see why this post is called minted, right? I thought the best way to rev up a jeans-and-vest-top look was to go for more statement hues, and as well as being different I have played to the SS'12 colour palette. I absolutely adore this mint vest top, it is probably the simplest top I consent to wear, yet it still looks cute thanks to the scalloped edges & gorgeous colour - Topshop, you are genius. My gold jeans have been a wardrobe favourite since I bought them a few months ago (you must be sick of seeing them!), and since metallics are still hot property this season they will remain as such. I just love the colours of this outfit, and the way it is framed by my chic Chanel-esque monochrome cardigan, then topped off with a gold statement necklace and more gold jewellery. This is simple, yet chic, perfect for my minimal-effort Wednesdays.

Ice cream dream.
TGIF, is all I can say. Today was pretty tiring if I am honest, and that wasn't helped by us watching a video in history last lesson - pretty sure I was sleeping with my eyes open. Yet again, on one of those 'I want to be in bed' days, I picked an outfit that would disguise my less-than-alert brain, with fresh colours to hopefully stimulate my mind. Not sure it worked, but it's always worth a shot!
Blazer & Bracelet - ASOS; Top & Earrings - Accessorize; Skirt & Tights - Primark; Shoes - New Look; Belt & Ring - H&M; Necklace - Accessorize.
In sharp contrast to yesterday's loud, proud & printed look, I opted for another of SS'12's hottest trends for this Friday's look - pastels. I am in love with pastel colours right now. I don't know if it is their ability to be mixed and matched effortlessly or the fact that they are super-pretty with their candy-ice-cream hues, but honestly, pastels are my favourite trend of the season I think. Today I dressed a bit like an ice cream, if you wanted some pale strawberry and mint.. I like the way the scallop-neck top matches the scallop-hem skirt, and the way the colours work so well together. I also love my gold jewellery, particularly this leaf double-ring.
I will admit that I got a little lazy with my hair though - I wanted to do something other than wear it down, but apparently all I could come up with was up in a bun.. I promise to be more adventurous with my hair soon!
